This morning we left Florence for the quaint little town of San Miniato. It is a beautiful little town just west of Florence. We visited a local butcher shop where they make their own salamis and sausages from local meats and ingredients.

After tasting some of their products we headed to lunch at a traditional slow food restaurant. We had a delicious four course meal. The traditional slow food movement uses only local ingredients to make their food and follows the guidelines in accordance with the slow food movement. We also had an olive oil tasting which included tips for picking out a good extra virgin olive oil.

After lunch we headed to Bologna where we had the afternoon and evening to ourselves to explore the city. I of course went shopping and explored the downtown area.

Today was definitely the best day so far! I had the whole day to myself in Florence. So I just bounced from shop to shop and had some delicious food along the way. I went to the Gucci Garden which is the Gucci museum and has an exclusive shop downstairs. I browsed around many different stores admiring all the clothing and handbags.

I also had a lot of delicious food and drinks. I tried an Aperol spritz for the first time, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t my favorite either. I also had lots of Pizza and gelato! It was definitely a good day!

Today we had a very long bus ride from Cuneo. It was about 6 hours to Florence but we finally made it. We then had a walking tour of the city, which was very crowded and rainy. But we did get to see some of the architecture of the city as well as some of the sculptures.

After the tour we had dinner at restaurant where we had a really good three course meal.
